Event:

Accelerating Bioinformatics

Date: Tuesday 3rd December - Wednesday 4th December  2019
Location: Hilton New York Fashion District, New York, USA

Oxford Nanopore technologies and Nvidia invite you to attend a 2-day course on the fundamentals of CUDA and how to accelerate bioinformatics pipelines on GPU technology.

This course will be taught by Nvidia Solutions architects who work with academia and industry on how to accelerate their pipelines enabling faster development, testing and results.

This workshop is for developers, scientists, engineers, researchers and students who want to learn about GPU programming, algorithms, and optimisation techniques.

This course will suit anyone who:

  • develops algorithms or tools and wishes to understand how to accelerate these up by utilising the power of GPUs
  • has recently bought GPUs and is looking to implement them into their infrastructure

Agenda (subject to change)
Tuesday 3rd December

  • CUDA Fundamentals: A full day covering the CUDA software stack, how to develop, deploy and accelerate with it

Wednesday 4th December

  • Implementing Bioinformatics analysis pipelines on GPU technology: A hands on day with the Nvidia life science team where you will be exercising your CUDA knowledge and applying it to tools relevant to you

Attendees should have a basic understanding of the C or C++ programming languages. Experience in genomics is not essential. We welcome attendees who have specific questions about how to accelerate their own work on GPU.

There is no delegate fee for this event.

Delegates are required to bring their own laptop.
