Event:

Explore the pore: an introduction to nanopore sequencing and recent advances and applications

Date: Thursday 11th February 2021

Time: 1:00 pm (EST)

Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) has developed a disruptive sequencing platform that offers simplicity, long reads, portability and real time data acquisition to enable researchers to generate NGS data for novel applications. Our platform leverages the direct, electronic analysis of single molecules. This approach enables the rapid sequencing of DNA and RNA molecules at a single base resolution. Learn how we use a protein called a nanopore to motivate nucleic acid molecule to pass through the nanopore and generate characteristic disruptions that are converted into standard FASTQ files.

Learn about recent advancements to our platform that have enabled researchers to characterize complex microbiomes from wastewater to applications to elucidate the immune response including high resolution HLA Genotyping for deceased donor. We will share how we have engaged the scientific community in the global response the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
You will also learn about new developments recently announced at our recent Nanopore Community Meeting.
